How I did it: At first I joined mad activities, I was a very cliche freshman. I took honors classes because they were easier. I sucked it up, because if you don't, high school will wear you down. Sophomore year I was a typical Sophomore. Junior year I started smoking pot and chilled with my friends to the wee hours. Senior year was pretty triflin' and boring and I spent most of my time just hanging out with the locals after school. FUCK HIGH SCHOOL! I … Read how I did it…
How I did it: First, I had gym class and fitness class at my high school. This got me moving, initially. Then I joined karate, and I go to three lessons per week. We have to do tons of pushups, situps, jumping jacks, kicks, punching, sparring, etc. This got me in MUCH better shape, I have a girl 6 pack now, lol. Also, I began walking to school, and I got a job at a theme park where I have to walk around all of the time. I am in shape. Whoop! Read how I did it…
How I did it: I already had one of those sushi kits (it came with a bamboo mat & bamboo paddle). I went out to the Asian Mart and bought some stuff like powdered wasabi (just add water), sushi soy sauce, nori sheets, sticky rice, avocados, carrots, cucumbers, and synthetic crab meat. I wanted to stay away from any real meats that I could get people sick from, since it was my first time making sushi. It takes like three hours to make it. It takes an… Read how I did it…

I have been working on this! I made it my major in college, and all I can say is that studying it more in class has made me love the language and the country and its culture more than ever, I am utterly obsessed with it. I joined the Japanese Club at my university and it is awesome! I have made so many friends there and we go on lots of fun Japanese-related trips, plus I meet people who I can speak with. Also, I joined the Japanese Conversation Club. All of these things have helped me.
Sure, people here complain about Genki, but I like it, I find it useful. The trick is to not only use Genki, but use slang books, talk to other students (One of my friends in my class and I meet up weekly and speak to each other only in Japanese, and our teacher helps us), watch TV shows, read Japanese books, etc.
Try your hardest everyone! :]
I need to do this. It’s 3:05 AM right now and I’m just about to go to sleep. It all started over the summer, when I went on vacation to the beach and started sneaking out to party. When I got home, people invited me to parties more often so soon enough I was sneaking out every night all night, so since then it’s just been a habit of mine, no matter how early I must wake in the morning, to stay up until at least 3 AM.
Today, just a few minutes ago, I realized that in movies people pick up the phone and ask, “What do you want? It’s 3 in the morning!” in a groggy voice.
Lol. It’s time to get to bed earlier.
