So for Lent I gave up sweets…I’m going on 1.5 weeks now and it hasn’t been too difficult. Most of my temptation is at work, so if I can keep my “no sweets” mindset going while I’m there – I’m good to go.
Another thing I’ve done recently is start up an account at Sparkpeople.com. It’s a free service and it lets you track your food intake everyday. It also sets up guidelines to follow as well as excercise and meal plans. Looks good so far, and it’s really helping to motivate me.

Summer and I ended up cutting 8 heads of hair for the homeless on Monday. We were both pretty nervous to begin with, but it ended up being a lot of fun! And they loved it! We’ll be doing it again this coming Monday as well. It’s so wonderful to be able to do something like that for someone who can’t regularly afford it. The guys and the church were so thankful.
that spend their Monday nights at Tulip Grove Baptist Church will now be getting haircuts courtesy of me. I don’t have any training but I do it regularly for friends and family. I’ve always had the idea in my head that I wanted to do it on a volunteer basis for those who couldn’t afford it. Tuesday the opportunity presented itself and I jumped head first. I’m a little nervous, I don’t really know what to expect…but I’m so excited to be helping out!
