Why go the familiar route and why accommodate the crowds? Find your own interests and pursue them – go hire a car, take a donkey down the Grand Canyon, react to a travel magazine programme and tell yourself, ‘I can do that as well because I want to see what they are seeing!’ Be good to yourself and take risks within your limits! It simply means do not be irresponsible – curiosity killed the cat, but be curious within reasonable limits.

Listening allows you to focus on other people – it’s therapeutic, which means you can forget about your own issues and drift into another person’s world, of course, you need to listen carefully, but it does not mean you need to express and opinion or give advice the whole time! Just share the (other person’s) moment together – it is really enriching.
