I’d love to have the ability to play almost any instrument, and experiment with them by creating songs using different instruments.

hit all the buttons in a crowded elevator
A liberating experience 8 months ago

There’s so much fun in pushing every button in an elevator. I’ve only done it a few times, but every time it has been really fun. The first time I did it, me and a few friends got on at the first floor, hit every button, and took a ride to the top floor (which was a fancy restaurant). On our way, we met several people who were much older than us. They were pretty cool about it, too. One woman in her 50’s even hung out with us when we got to the restaurant. We discussed things and it was awesome how you can get to know people in the strangest ways. She even bought some food for us at the restaurant. Normally in an elevator you’re pretty quiet and ignore everybody, but if you go in and start talking to people, they’ll catch on really quick and you can have some interesting conversations.

Around midnight, on the first floor where the bar is located, many people were heavily intoxicated and wanted to get to their rooms. However, only one elevator was functioning and everybody wanted to go to bed. On the 16th floor, a friend and I pressed all the buttons and got off quickly. We waited by the balcony with a camera and recorded the elevator going down each floor, taking about 15 seconds or more per floor. People would get on every now and then, and be forced to look at the empty hallways at every floor. As it was descending, there were about 10-15 drunk people wanting to go to their rooms, and they had to wait several minutes just to get on an elevator. (This inconvenience is what gives stairs the advantage) They got pretty rowdy, and by the time the elevator got to them, they were using every colorful word in their vocabulary. It was a blast!

So yeah, definitely do this sometime. It’s really fun to do at night if people are out and about. Do it in your pajamas. Bring an ice bucket with you to start up a random conversation. It’s so much fun.
