Found some lessons on YouTube to get this ball rolling. I now know numbers, some colors, and simple greetings.
Sentence structure is new to these English ears! Here’s only a brief taste at how complicated it can be for us:
Lány – Daughter
Lányom – My daughter (in this case it’s this person’s daughter, and this person’s daughter only!
Lányem – My daughter (in this case possession isn’t exclusive to one person.
Lányunk – Our daughter
I’ll keep this informal learning up until I get down to Portland.

Now that I’ve made it a minor goal everyday to read about one hero a day. I feel like I’m gaining progress at a quicker pace this way and thus an influx of motivation will be had. I don’t feel bad about clicking on those extra links to other Hungarian-related topics this way. The knowledge will bloom further than my original goal had intended.
