...but it’s done. I think applying to medical school is enough evidence of taking more (reasonable) risks. I also cut my own hair recently. Bam!

How I did it: It was about 3 years from the time I started thinking about going into healthcare to getting in. For almost the whole time, I was unsure about whether I should be a doctor, nurse, PA, or something else. I took medical school pre-requisites and volunteered, but I still wasn't sure. How I did it: I have to admit that I had an incentive--I got a reward for doing it from the program I volunteer with. I started getting dizzy at the end, and the nurse told me to cough so my diaphragm wouldn't clamp down on my aorta, which apparently happens sometimes. I think it was a combination of being good at standardized tests, luck, and studying. Probably in that order, sadly.
Cuando tomo un descanso de trabajar (para el almuerzo), leo menudo artículos sobre salud de BBC Mundo. Está más facíl leer estos artículos que otros, porque mi vocabulario tiene más palabras de medicina, salud, y hallazgo.
...Paso demasiado tiempo usando el Internet! Pero esto, al menos, es un buen uso del tiempo.
Desafortunadamente, no paso mucho tiempo (cualquier tiempo…) hablar con otras personas, pero creo que mi habilidades de español han mejorado a pesar de esto.
