Last night, as I was packing up my sister in San Marcos and getting ready to take her down to San Antonio, my husband called and asked if he could go to a movie with a coworker. He promised to straighten the house before he went and not to linger afterwards. One part of me really wanted his hug when I got home. But another part of me knew how much this meant for him, especially as this was someone who is moving away soon. So it only took me a few seconds to say, “Ok, thats fine, go have fun!”
Afterwards, I was so surprised by this. I don’t think I would have responded that way a few years ago. Thank you for growing!
Well, my sister is coming to stay with me for a week or two (at least). She was having trouble remembering to take the meds that the doc prescribed, thinking they were going to “kill her”. Also she tried to hurt herself, so until the medicine can start working, she’s staying with me. I am happy and sad about this at the same time; happy to have my sister who I loves company, and sad that those are the reasons she is here. I really hope the meds the doc gave her will help. I’ll let everyone know in a week how it goes.
