Marriage isn’t magic! Do all the hard work of marriage BEFORE you get married — it’ll be 10 times harder if you wait until after. Talk about every possible argument you can think of. Resolve as many things as you can in advance. Set up conflict resolution schema so that when tempers rise, arguments don’t have to follow. Never talk about a grievance when it’s fresh. Always apologize first — even if you’re the one wronged, find something to apologize for; it will help you approach your wife/husband with a humble heart. Never stop working hard for her/him. Learn to thank your wife/husband for letting you do things for her/him. Don’t let the sun set on your anger. Pray together. Pray for each other. Give preference your wife over yourself.

I heart travel =)

Some people think that travel for it’s own sake is good, but there are very few things that are good for their own sakes. Travel for it’s own sake will lead to an empty life =) But travel for the sake of something else is great. I recommend when going elsewhere not to spend too much time in museums and galleries if you want to experience what it’s like to be in a different culture: all museums and galleries are basically the same. Go to coffee shops, restaurants, sporting events, etc. It’s the people that make the culture, not the artifacts or whatever. Interact with the people as much as possible =) You won’t experience Italy by looking at statues (although that is good to do =) Go to Amalfi and buy something from a lemon orchard owner. Go to a restaraunt and ask them what the best pizza is. Eat that.
