become a travel journalist
Dreamjob 3 months ago

I finished studying Tourism, and decided that it was’nt for me. Most people have an idealised image of it, but 90% of the jobs are in the office. I have to get out sometimes, otherwise I’ll go nuts!

So I’ve always enjoyed writing, and decided last year to study Media. I’ve specialised in editorial office work this year, and have 3 more years to go.

My plan on reaching my goal is to do some volunting, courses and maybe find a part time job in the media sector (if I’m lucky!). I already landed myself a nice freelance job, where I get a small fee for my work. I’ve also signed up for a course ‘writing short stories’ which is starting next month!

P.s. I am NOT English, for in case you thought.. mm typos + journalism ;-)

run 10 km
used-to-be runner 3 months ago

I used to run in a group at an athletics association but stopped because of a leg enjury, which sadly came back 3 times..

After my recovery I did a few attempts to start running on my own, with the support of my dad (a marathon runner) and my boyfriend (runner for fun). But it’s just so hard, because when you’re not in a group you have to count on yourself. Push yourself to walk. And starting is not easy, I tried a couple of times and it’s hard to keep up.

The longest distance I’ve ran is 18 km, so I KNOW I can do this! Sadly, I can not join the association untill April. So I’ve set up a training schedule, for 3 trainings a week. I’ve even set dates and timeframes, so there is no excuse!

I’m starting next tuesday September 2nd, and my dad is running with me to cheer me on. Wish me good luck!

write a book
I've started 3 months ago

Okay, I started making an outline a few months ago.. But soon I’d realised I need to tone up my Dutch language (yep I’m Dutch ;-)) and get some experience elsewhere..

So now I work freelance for an editorial office, about going out in the area I live. Which is going good and is really fun to do. And I’ve also signed up for a course ‘writing short stories’ for 10 weeks. If I enjoy it I can do some folow-up courses!
