i just read this by Chris Uriarte and it’s so true… “I finally learned that sometime you have to let go and that part of being a good manager is being able to empower your people to do things. Nobody likes a control freak and you can’t take over the entire world all on your own, particularly in the business world. You need to build a good team that can support you and that you can depend on.”
having the mindset of i just have to do it myself so it’s done right is still a huge factor in my working life, but i’m more than happy now to realise i can’t work 24hrs a day and i will have to unless i loose that attitude. i feel a bit bad delegating still, but at the end of the day, i do realise now that people learn from my delegation because after all – that’s how i learnt to do things. plus it helps me out timewise in a BIG BIG way!
but so totally worth it! i was actually lucky enough to get an upgrade using frequent flyer points so i didn’t technically have to pay for it but i enjoyed every single second of that 22hr flight – plus i slept for about 8 hrs which is unheard of for me! woohoo! hoping to do the same again this december!
