No sense putting the cart before the horse but… one of these days. Or years, rather, I want to be a mommy.

How I did it: Chantix. Only one pill a day (erratically) for a month or two. After the insurance raised the prescription costs, I decided to do it on will power. I quit December 1st, but with the holidays, there were a few times here or there at gatherings where I bummed one off of a friend, but I never fell completely off the wagon. I've had ZERO cigarettes since New Years Eve and even though I get urges still, I manage to get … Read how I did it…
How I did it: Milwaukee Area Technical College has a very competitive and nearly impossible program centered around the View Camera, a large clunky outdated contraption which you are left to basically figure out on your own. I’ve needed to lose weight my entire life. I’m sick of looking like this and feeling crappy about myself, and while I’m going through this phase of my life where I’m re-learning how to nurture my body mind and spirit, I’m hoping that my body begins to shape into what it can. I don’t necessarily want to be super skinny, but I would like to have some clothing options beyond Lane Bryant. I don’t wanna watch my thighs jiggle on the treadmill. I have joined the gym. I know how to eat healthy. I just need to make all this come together and remember that I am worth it.

I did it. For three or four months, thanks to the Chantix, but this last time I tried I had an emotional breakdown—be it from the medication or from life stressors. Right now I’m on a mission to get healthy, body mind and spirit, and I think perhaps quitting smoking will come along with that, and maybe I can do it cold turkey without the help of mind-altering drugs.
