I have submitted applications for two craft shows for my craft collective. We were already accepted to one of them, and I hear we are likely to be accepted for the other.
Also, I started selling crafts on etsy.com and made my first sale. It’s very reassuring to have an internet presence outside of the occasional craft shows.

The most important thing to me about compliments is not bolstering egos. While I like to make people feel better about themselves, I feel that the most important aspect of complimenting people is creating positivity.
1.a : an expression of esteem, respect, affection, or admiration; especially : an admiring remark b : formal and respectful recognition : HONOR
When I am looking for positive things to say about other people, it forces me to evaluate things like an optimist. While my perspective is often much bleaker than this, I feel better about life when I can stay motivated positively! This is part of my 2007 reinvention of my perspective to be more positive.

it’s best to do this with a group of friends. go to a quieter karaoke to begin, and have everyone sign up for songs together. work in some back-up dancers and you’ll feel like more of a star. karaoke is about having fun and being in the spotlight for a second. don’t let your nerves or fears keep you away. also, look for duets and sing it with a friend. then you dont have to be up there alone.
if you have trouble picking a song, perhaps you can play “scary”-oke with a few friends. each person signs up someone else to sing karaoke and picks the song for them. try to pick something that you know they know. don’t tell them what their song will be!!! when their name (or your name) is called, get up on stage and brace yourself. it’s always hilarious. for example, once my best friend and i were scary-oke’d into singing IT’S RAINING MEN. we never would have picked that song ourselves, but we had a great time together.
