I worked full time at a local food co-op for three months. Initially, my goal to find a full-time job stemmed from my desire to be financially independent during a break from school. However, I realized that there are other benefits, like benefits! A full-time job can usually afford health insurance, dental insurance, and other perks. It also lends a sense of routine and relaxtion to the job when you know your presence is guaranteed constantly. Ultimately, I left work to begin school again. I’m glad I have the experience of the daily grind to look back on (and not forward to).

Writing my personal statement turned out to be a waste of time, because foreign medical schools are less interested in statements and letters than our domestic counterparts. For my application to UQ, all I needed were my transcripts, MCAT scores, and an interview.
Writing the personal statement did help me re-examine my reasons for choosing medicine. They helped me with my interview, to be sure.
I start in January at the University of Queensland. I remember creating this goal five months ago, and I can’t believe that I’ve already achieved it. I like the concept of this website, because it allows you to track your goals in a friendly and supportive forum. QueenslandBrisbane
