My mom is super talented. She knits, crochets, and sews, in addition to a whole bunch of other crafty abilities. I want to be like my mom. She used to make my halloween costumes, she makes me afghans, she fixes all of my broken things, and is generally really handy to have around. She is not however getting any younger and I fear that someday she is not going to be around and I am not going to have any of the awesome talents that she possesses. While I am capable of several things like jewelry making, baking, scrapbooking and cross stitching I am super excited to learn the things that my mom is so good at. So I am hoping that she will be able to teach me so that I can in turn pass the skills down to my children.

How I did it: Instead of trying to make it perfect and completely customized right out of the gate, I opted to go with a pre-made template which made things a lot easier and lot less stressful. I have already posted my first blog entry which is another weight off my mind and now I can take care of getting my custom header made and custom colors and whatever else I want to change at my own speed knowing that the blog is up and running. While it may not … Read how I did it…
On January 16, I fell down the stairs while leaving our condo on the way to dinner with a friend. I was on crutches and in a cast for several months, which was replaced by a giant walking airboot cast which i was in until about a month ago. No one can tell me what is wrong, however, I was diagnosed with pronated ankles so I had to go buy specific sneakers and have special inserts put in them to help correct the problem. When I wear the sneakers I walk almost normally and only limp after I have been on my feet for a long time or when I have been sitting for a while and I stand up. It is difficult however to live life in sneakers. They are fine with jeans and a t-shirt but they just don’t match my dresses and skirts. Yesterday I wore a cute pair of shiny zebra print flats and it was very difficult and painful to walk and I seem to still be paying the price today because my ankle/foot is swollen and very tender and sore especially when walking.
So I don’t know how long it is going to take but I would really like to be able to wear heels and cute shoes when I want to and to be able to walk with no pain and no limp.
This summer my boyfriend and I had planned on going to Germany for a vacation and to visit all of the family that I have over there. However, his job interfered and we were unable to take the trip and now football season has started so we won’t be able to go until next spring or later. My Oma (grandmother) has not been in good health the past several years and I really want to go see and spend some time with her before her health deteriorates anymore. I would also love to see my aunts, uncles and cousins because I haven’t been over to see all of them together since 1996. And that is far too long between family visits.
