I have seen a posting about this (See zaxxon). I have been working with EssentialPIM. I love that it is in a portable version that can run from a thumb drive. I don’t do that, but I like the limited footprint. The free version will also import and export from Outlook – makes starting very easy.
It has some limitations. No email, but this is probably not a big deal. There are some very good options.
As for notes, tasks and calander and contacts it is pretty good. One glaring problem, if you open an item, say a contact, you can not work in another area, say calander. This is very limiting.
There is a pay version, but I have not tried it.
Overall, this is a clean easy and free alternative I highly recommend. But as I said there are limitations.
Any other options?
