How I did it: I started running between 5-10km throughout the week from January 2011... In the weeks leading up to the marathon I was doing a lot of cycling training for 'around the bay' on weekends which helped significantly. I'd never run more than 10km but had no difficulty on race day... I kept a slow but steady pace and didn't really tire out until the last 2km... Apart from slightly sore knees I'm feeling great!! :-) Finished up in 2 hours which … Read how I did it…
How I did it: My bf and I started the year out attempting to cook new Nepalese style recipes every night... We hand picked the best and recooked them again and again until we had the flavours right.. After the initial excitement we reduced our attempts to once per week and called friends and family over in Nepal for help!Once we were happy with the recipe we did the layout using pages... Finally when the recipes were done we self published using lulu: … Read how I did it…
How I did it: We'd just walked to the top of Bob's Peak in Queenstown - it was sunset, there were no queues and they were having a bungy sale... The price was right, the timing was good and I was in the perfect mood for an adventure!Standing at the top of the platform the jitters started... when the bungy girl said "On the count of 5 you're going to run up and leap off the platform" I thought 'no I'm not!', but the thought of a second countdown was eve… Read how I did it…

I’m starting out at 165cm and 69kg (bmi 25.3)... I’m aiming for 59kg (bmi 21.7)... I’m a mega tea and chocolate addict but decided to see a naturopath recently and I’ve been told to stop drinking black tea so i’m using this as an inspiration to start on the weightloss journey.
My routine:
Breakfast: ultraslim bar (540kj) and a chai tea (456kj)
Morning tea: apple (250kj)
Lunch: Avacado sandwich on rye (250×2+500 = 1000kj)
Afternoon tea: apple (250kj) and a dandelion tea (0kj)
Dinner: Roast vegetables (1000kj)
Dessert: 2 “orange pieces” from a terrys chocolate orange ball (179kj)
Daily total: 3675kj
Every work day at lunch time I go to contours up the road… A half hour work out at contours apparently burns 1200 kj… On the weekends I ride by bicycle for at least half an hour, usually more so this should equate to the same amount.
Apparently my BMR is 1487.5 according to this website:
http://www.health-and-fitness-coach.com/how-many-calories-per-day.html
My energy expenditure per day is my BMR1.2 as I’m very sedentary at work = 1487.51.2 = 1785 Calories = 7468 kilojoules
Now if it takes 37000kj burnt to lose 1kg of fat, then each day my defecit is 4993 kj I should be losing a kilo every 7 days.
So far I’ve kept this up for 4 days straight… no change in weight or how I’m feeling, though the first 2 days without tea were very difficult!
I have my learners permit!! My bf and I did the full day course today and we both passed :-) I’ll admit it was touch and go for me for a while… mid way through the course the instructor had a hissy fit and told me I was going to fail, but I pulled through at the end and didn’t make a single mistake on the test. I’m still too slow taking off but I’m getting there… My bf was absolutely fine of course and passed with flying colours.
