I’ve now had the offer letter through and I’ve now signed on the dotted line, it looks like I’ll be on 3 month probation. I guess that means the company can ensure that I am right for the job and giving us both an easy get out card without being stuck in a job that’s not suitable or I don’t enjoy.
So hopefully by September time I’ll be past probation and can look to making other happy changes in my life.
Finally managed to finish book 2. This is taken me a while but I am determined to do it.
2) pyramids by Terry Pratchett
I think I can almost complete this goal now. In the last couple of weeks I’ve had about 3 interviews for a job in my nearest city. Yesterday I heard from the recruitment agency that I’ve definitely got it. Now I’m just waiting for the official job offer to come through and if I’m happy I can sign on the dotted line.
After contracting for the last 2.5 years on and off, its safe to assume that I’ll be taking it. Whilst I’ve enjoyed the flexibility that contracting has to offer, I’ve not really enjoyed the fact that I don’t have paid holiday or sickness etc and it would be nice to have those again. Rather than think I can’t really take time off else I won’t be paid for it.
In the next few days I should be getting the official offer and then I’ll be handing in my notice at my current place. But until then I’ll keep this open.
It’s only taken me just over a month to read 1 book, but I have finally finished the first book of 2014. It wasn’t a particularly large book to read, I just didn’t read a bit every day.
The first book I’ve finished is:
1) Across the Nightingale Floor by Lian Hearn
Finally finished book 9, so it doesn’t look like I’ll complete this goal by the end of tonight. Not unless I find some really short books, but tbh that is cheating a little. So for 2014 I think I shall reduce the number of books.
9) Wyrd Sisters by Terry Pratchett.
I’ve put this back on the list as it looks like I’ll be going to an F1 Grand Prix race in 2014. Woot!
I got a couple of tickets from my parents for Xmas. The tickets are for reserved seats at the start of the main straight, so I’ll be near the pole sitter. I know have to decide who to take with me, but I think my dad dropped a subtle hint when I opened the present. So I’ll probably go with him. Still I have 7 month to make a decision.
Managed to read 2 books, but still a way off completing this goal.
7) Mort by Terry Pratchett
8) Sourcery by Terry Pratchett
I’m now on book 9. Only 6 more to go before the year is out :o/
Managed to complete book 6. Ok so it was a short one, but I only have 3 months left to read 9 more books. Eek!
6) The BFG by Roald Dahl
That’s book 4 now read and I have 5 months to read 11 books. Best get cracking then.
4) The Host – Stephenie Meyer
Whilst I’ve planned several routes at Wittenham Clumps, I have also walk several routes. These routes have included parts of the ones I have planned, so I’m marking this as complete.
To be honest I had to as they were starting to become illegal and I didn’t want to get stopped and fined by the police.
I forgot that I had completed one of the lego games a couple of years ago when I used to play regularly with my ex.
Game 6 completed:
Indiana Jones – the original adventures
4 more games to go. Some of these are only partly complete, so will take a while before I complete them.
I have just finished game 5 and am now half way through all the Lego games I own.
Harry Potter – years 5-7
Managed to finish another game last night. I seem to be getting through these quite quickly at the moment. Helped by the fact that when I stopped playing them, I only had a small percentage to go. I suspect that might change when I start playing some of the others.
Game 4 complete:
Harry Potter – years 1-4
Well that is another Lego game complete!. The one I have finished is:
Lord of the Rings
I have now finished 2 Lego Wii games out of the 10 I own:
Pirates of the Caribbean
I’ve actually managed to complete 1 game. The game I’ve finished is:
Batman 2 – dc super heroes
I have all the Lego games that have been released on the Wii. But I never manage to finish them before another one is released. I also have the problem that when I go back to an older version, I forget what I need to do to complete them. So I’m gonna try and complete them all. I’m not going to put a time limit on this as I also need to find a job too.
Here are the Lego games I own:
1) Star Wars – the complete saga
2) Star Wars – the clone wars
4) Batman 2 – dc super heroes
5) Indiana Jones – the original adventures
6) Indiana Jones 2 – the adventure continues
7) Harry Potter – years 1-4
8) Harry Potter – years 5-7
9) Pirates of the Caribbean
10) Lord of the Rings
Have no finished book 3 out of the 15 I plan to read this year. There is still plenty of year left to read 12 more.
3) Equal Rites – Terry Pratchett
