I actually put in a request with my grandfather who use to do carpentry for a living. I requested a hand-made bookshelf for my birthday this past October. He came through and built me a very beautiful bookshelf with his own hands. He left some work up to me….I still have to stain it to match my furniture. So maybe I didn’t buy one, but now I have one. Thank goodness.
With my busy schedule completing this goal was not as simple as asking a guy for their number and following through. I decided to take a major risk and join a dating site. I signed up with a couple actually just for fun at first, just to see what kind of responses I would get and who I would find online. The only website that I really stuck to was Yahoo! Personals. This site was easy and allowed me to view profiles and send simple messages free of charge. I actually went on 4 dates. I was careful about how I met these guys and talking to them on the phone and online for a while before I met them in person. The first 2 guys definitely were a flop, but learning experiences nonetheless. The third date was a very nice guy, but just no sparks. Gentlemen to a “T” but there is someone out there for him and it just wasn’t me. The fourth date was the one that you could say changed my life. I wasn’t necessarily standing on the edge of a cliff and this person kept me from jumping, but he restored my faith that there are good people in the world. We have been dating for 2 months now and every minute with him has been fun and some of the happiest days of my life. If that is just what the first 2 months has in store for us I can’t wait to see what the future holds. So yes going on a date is a great thing to do. I personally found out that I don’t particularly like dating around, but when you find that person that makes the sparks fly and makes you feel like you belong in this world again, you realize that it is worth it. Broken road, ya know?
