find a shop where you live; a lot of places will rent to own. pick up the phone and call. learn scales and positions right away – especially if you haven’t played a fretless instrument. get a tuner to check your notes against… THEN move to songs.
when you fingers start to bleed from playing pitz, grab a beer and keep playing. if it gets bad, switch to arco. the first month my hands ached every night, but it was well worth it.
an amazing trip. there was lots of moving from one place to another so my advice would be to take time to stop in a place for a few hours and take it easy.
