I'm doing 2 things
I have been learning Finnish for nearly 4 years now (and lived in Helsinki for 1.5 years of that) and I still don’t know enough. I am moving back in June after completing a year in Cape Town (amazing place, btw!) and I can’t wait to get to grips with the language again.
Incidently, and I don’t mean this to be a big, horrible plug, even though it will sound like it, I recently set up a Finnish vocab blog, where I submit new words I come across from reading Finnish text. Subscribe to the feed to get a stream of Finnish vocab, and there are also great learning test and games courtesy of Quizlet for all the words. http://learnfinnish.wordpress.com
Also, try this site – http://hopohopo.finnishschool.com – a blog where you can practise your writing and have a community comment/correct it for you. Brilliant idea.
