I had hoped that by making very small pieces of art, I would develop the courage and skills to make larger pieces. I was pleased with the pieces I made and then I attended a swap where I gave away my one-of-a-kind pieces for art for many things that felt almost store-bought. People had just stamped or cut things from magazines so in exchange for pieces I loved, I got things I did not like in return. I did get two or three pieces I really liked but overall I felt cheated. I know it makes me sound shallow and ungrateful but I have not made a trading card since then.

How I did it: After waiting and saving, and waiting some more, I finally got to a point in my life where I could buy a MINI without having to actually live in it. I ordered it directly off the MINIUSA site, sent the info to my dealer and had to wait just over a month to receive it. Best car I've ever owned! Read how I did it…
My first digital SLR wasn’t right for me. It was heavy and unintuitive. I thought I was a crappy photographer. I had all but given up hope that I would find a camera that I enjoyed using and made me feel like I knew what I was doing. Then I got a Canon Rebel and everything changed for me. It was the right camera for me.
Find the right camera for yourself. Hold lots of different models, look at the controls, take your own memory card so you can take a few pictures and then see the quality later on your own computer or get prints made. The right camera for me won’t necessarily be the right camera for you.
It was a long, convoluted turn of events but in the end, I was able to buy the house I had rented which was a great opportunity. I was familiar with the house—its quirks, what worked, what didn’t and I really loved it. In fact, I had tried to find a house similar to my rental to buy. It just never occurred to me to buy the rental.
I’ve been in the house as an owner for about 6 months now and I’m really glad I bought it. Sure, I wish I could afford to make all the updates and changes and money to be able to furnish it properly but its a great first house.
