With a massive impact – please do it!
For different reasons. At high school because I had to, at collage because a high iq got you linked with a local university and MENSA because I was curious.
I am now a member of MENSA with an IQ ca 165 – 170 (can’t remember my exact score)
By Calvin Kline, I knew as soon as I tried it the first time.
That signiture scent is sooo worth finding – an immediate feel good factor :)
I went to blood donors on Monday and ended up completely forgetting to do this. That’s what happens when you get invoved in other things (the story covering to those other things is on my give blood list).
I’ve changed my reminder frequency to (hopefully) remind me just before my next donor session on January 28.
I went to give blood on Monday after being defered because of Hep B vaccines, what do you know? I shouldn’t have been defered for months, only for 7 days!!! The person I spoke to about the injections apparently mis-understood why I was having them and gave me the wrong advice. I’ve been working in Germany and Scotland on and off for most of the last five months but I could have made at least 1 donor session in that time!!
Phew!! Rant over! I feel better now and on a more positive note I took a friend with me – he was pretty scared but I stayed with him and he made it through the process without incident.
Results? I’m back on the donor radar with my next appointment at the end of January (the earliest I’m eligable to donate again), my friend has decided to give blood again (he’s currently beating himself up over making such a big deal of his first time, but he’ll get over it) and I spent so much time helping him I forgot to tell the people at the session I want to register as a bone marrow donor (annother of my goals). Ahh well, there’s always next time!
I completely forgot to register the last time I went to give blood. I’ll try and remember when I’m out of my deferral period at blood doners!
I have just had my first paper published in a top peer reviewed journal, I couldn’t believe how good it felt!
I’m in Berlin at the moment and I actually had a short conversation today in German. It was very basic and I made a lot of mistakes but the person I was talking to was patient and we stuck with German.
I’m pleased to be making progress.
I can also order food and drinks fairly easily now as well!
Especially when your friends live in ca 25 different countries and you want to share photos and email without silly storage limits!
I’ve been temporarily deferred :(
I’m a departmental first aider so I have to have a course of Hep B vaccines – this means I can’t donate for several weeks after each vaccine!!
It’s so totally annoying, but better than getting Hep B by helping someone.
When I set up this goal, Iwas not intending accomplishing it by setting up a linux system from scratch!!!!!
much snarling and generally unlady-like behaviour later
This time consuming and frustrating endevour has now been completed and although I’m not ready to mark this goal done, I am considerably more knowlagable about linux than I was
For the simple reason that most of the people I know can read between the lines and fill in what I’m NOT saying – then translate it for whomever I’m speaking with.
I’ve moved away from classic diplomacy to more of a ‘constructive disagreement’ format, this seems to be working better. People are still aware of my opinion – but not in the harsh, brutal honesty fromat of before.
Does this qualify as diplomacy?
If I could get my hands on the person who dumped 3 files, 3 weeks of back mail and a 40 cm pile of s**t on my desk between 5.30pm yesterday and 8.30 am today they would wish they had never been born! This is sabotage – and I’ve spent all day sorting it out!
As of now my desk is organised again.
Has anyone got any advice on sabotage prevention? PLEASE?
My paperwork is up to date, the stuff that needs to be filed is and the stuff that needed to be got rid of has been shredded and dumped. My computer workstation is now clear of everything except what needs to be there. There is a lot still to do, but a lot less than what there was.
My paperwork is up to date, my desk is clear apart from the work I have to do today and my diary is up to date.
The next step is to get organised at home without messing up at work, oh well, one step at a time!
The advantage of catholic schooling, this was available to us as part of our personal development program. Extremely hard work but incredably rewarding.
My Dad bought me a fantastic camera for christmas, 10 mega pixals and a 2 gig SD card. It would be a shame not to be able to use it properly. Now I just need the time to practice (and study the manual in detail).
I’m in my final year of my PhD and I am now starting to wite up. My office at home generally looks more like a bomb has hit it than a working office.
I will get this room sorted!!
