I wasn’t doing too well with my “Crochet Sarah a doggie blanket” goal, so I decided to go the temporary route for now. Sarah is a 14-year old Poodle, who is almost completely blind and deaf. Despite that, she lights up when she gets a new blanket. She can tell the difference between a new blanket or simply a freshly washed blanket.
I made 2 new-sew blankets, with several yards of extra soft fleece. Cut simple fringe around all 4 sides of the two fleece pieces. Aligned two pieces of the fleece, and joined them together (on all 4-sides) by tying/knotting the fringe pieces together. The fleece holds heat to keep her sore bones warm…and she drags it around the room with her daily – tail wagging.
