I stopped by a gym I don’t usually frequent, and the fitness/wellness director there was very friendly and struck up a conversation with me in the locker room. I asked her if she could recommend resources for me and/or recommend a lucrative area that would provide a fairly good salary. She informed me that the field of weight management had the most opportunity for steady income, and gave me five association websites to check out. She also told me to email or call her if I had any quesitons or if she could help me in any way. I plan to check these out after I return from my wedding/honeymoon, and am most appreciative for her help and suggestins.

How I did it: I found the receipe on allrecipes.com, and here's a link to find it:http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Coconut-Cream-Cake-I/Detail.aspx I made the cake one day, and the icing the next. It was wonderful, and my fiancee said it could possibly have been the best he's ever had! Read how I did it…
How I did it: We completely redid the entire room. We installed new hardwoord floors ourselves (well, my fiancee and his son did!), installed a new ceiling fan, painted the walls, baseboards, and ceiling, installed a new front door which you can't see in the photo, and completely redecorated the entire room. How I did it: I had been saving and planning for a trip to Jamaica for about 3 years. About 4 months before the trip, I decided I wanted to dive while I was there. SCUBA diving was something I'd always thought of doing, and it was included in the price of my all-inclusive resort. Read how I did it…

I know the way to be a better friend is to listen. Most often that’s all I need to do, unless I’m asked a direct question when a friend is talking about something they are going through. Most often all that’s needed is an ear, not a mouth.
Also, when I feel judgemental thoughts invading, I’ve found I can switch the thoughts around to what’s truly dear and extraordinary about the person instead. We all need someone to accept us just as we are, and being ever mindful of this will help me with this goal.
I had a nice chat with a woman in her late 50’s after the OBX half marathon a couple of weeks ago. I asked her why she thought a lot runners quit soon after reaching 50. She told me that she noticed that when she turned 50 she experienced increased soreness after her runs. She stretched more, and took a few more days off and that helped her get through the change. The we talked about how we wondered what kind of shape we’d be in if we didn’t run, and we both whole heartedly agreed it would be much worse than just being a little more sore after our runs. I was reminded one more time of how grateful I am to be able to run, race, and finish in the top 10% of my gender at the age of 48. My resolve to always run was strengthened as a result of my conversation with a fellow runner, and I was also reminded of how important road races are because they keep me in touch with like-minded people which is really, really tough to find a lot of times.
