Impressive regexp hax

Regular expressions are fairly impressive in some cases (like this Simon Willison getElementsBySelector hax), but most of all, I’ve found the few patterns I already know to be incredibly useful in text processing.. Be it the console or Ruby on Rails URL route mapping.
I know I need to learn more of them, because surely, they will instanteneously be put to good use.. And if not, I can still impress people in chatrooms!
