I succeeded in toilet training my cat, but eventually let her switch back to a litter box. She had gotten proficient, but sharing your bathroom with a cat is a bit intriguing if you only have one to share and she really liked playing with the toilet paper.

Funniest thing in the world.
Okay, so the litter box is secured to the top of the toilet now right? So this morning, I get up, use the bathroom (taking the litter box off the toilet seat of course) and forget to put the box back up. I don’t know how. I just forgot. So anyway, I walked by the bathroom a minute later just in time to see my cat do a perfect arching leap…. directly into the toilet. EWWWWWWWW.
Poor Kitty.
She’s kind of pissed right now. :)
But SO funny.
The training continues pretty well. Last night I moved the litter box from its precarious tower beside the toilet to directly on top of the toilet, which confused the cat at first, but she’s gotten over it now and is now using the litter box on top of the toilet like a pro. I think I’ll give her a few days and then move to the bowl of litter inside the toilet.
This is actually quite a bit of work, and its really annoying to have to take the box off the toilet (I have it taped on so it won’t slip) every time someone ELSE needs to use it, but I’m consoling myself with the dream of never, ever having to use a litter box again.
