This is a book that is brief enough that it could be read in an afternoon, but the information in it is enough to make you think and explore your own motivations and resistances to doing creative work, that I’m taking it slower.
I’m about half way through now and the insights have been very helpful.

I finally wrote again. It was slow going at first, but I ended up pounding out a modest 14 page short story in a couple of days. At this point, it’s mostly for myself, but it was nice to see that it’s not outside the realm of possibility.
I have promised myself that I’ll allow a few days to think about what comes next, but then I’ll just start writing. It seems that the best way to get through these blocks is to just write, write, write.

Now that the New Years Resolutions have all been uttered, I’ve begun going to the gym. We only signed up a few days ago and I’ve been swimming twice. Yesterday I even used the elliptical trainer and did a little weight training, but I’m definitely more into the swimming.
It’s good to be back in the water.
Last time I went, I swam 35 laps (50 yards each) in about 45 minutes.
