I’ve always wanted to learn Estonian as my grandad is from there, and recently things have changed to mean that learning Estonian might have a real practical use! So I am going to try with my mum and my sister to learn. He says he still sings songs in Estonian in his head, so I think I might ask him to teach me some. It’s really exciting, actually. Although I’m not sure how I’m going to manage this, plus Japanese, plus my dissertation in one year. Slowly but surely I guess?

I’ve started; done the first two lessons on my audio course so far. Pretty proud of myself just for having remembered what I have so far, as I’ve never really seen myself as good at languages! Especially since I’m really enjoying it and feel more motivated than normal.
Bit overwhelmed at what to do next in terms of writing; I guess start learning Hiragana and Katakana, as Kanji is mindboggling so far, although I know a tiny bit. Anyone know any good books for this?
