The only reason I have low self-confidence is because I am shy/
For some strange reason, I think that being able to talk is the BEST ability to have.
I think I’m smart, funny, good looking and nice.
It’s just this shyness thing that’s holding me back.
Is talking really that important?????

How I did it: I practiced a lot. I looked up the directions online and I tired different ones untill I found the right one. Then I practiced until I could make a decent one. Read how I did it…
1) Accomplish a goal. I love it when I do something right! It makes me happy for the rest of the day.
2) Do something nice for someone and they actually show you how happy they are. Happiness is contagious to me and it gives me a great satisfaction knowing you helped them.
3) Compliments. I do feel a bit awkward but afterwords I feel great about it. (THANKS!!!)
4) Making someone laugh. (hopefully with me not at me lol)
5) Friends. (GOOD, True, Loyal, FRIENDS!) I love how you can put your trust in a person and depend on them. I love how I’m open and confident when I’m around them. You can make a mistake and still be HAPPY!
6) Connecting with a stranger. Making new friends and knowing that your not alone.
So, two days ago I attended a frseshman orientation and guess what? I made a friend!! I learned that all it takes is to go up to someone who looks nice and say “Hi, My name is __, what’s your name?” It sounded so awkward because this is what I said to everyone I met (I’m more than okay wit it). Once you introduce yourself all you do is ask what their hobbies are and than a conversation gets going. I used this technique with loads of people. AND in the end I met someone who have the same hobbies as I do and we had a GREAT conversation!! My advice is to just pick someone and talk to them. AND if you don’t have anything in common with them than at least your a little closer to finding someone who does! PLUS: its good to know a lot of people and have connections. I’m not sure what’s going to happen at school when it really starts but atleast I know some people AND I’m going to try to talk to even more people. The only problem I have now is trying to talk to ppl who I think of supieror BUT at least I’m a little closer. I’m going to try to work my way up and hopefully I’ll have a handful of friends.
