More People should do this

I just got a kick out of this “Dogs Against Romney” story. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/02/08/dogs-against-romney-dog-car-protester_n_1262251.html?ncid=edlinkusaolp00000009 I do believe dogs and lots of others should be worried about Romney.

Tree snails

My daughter is a biologist. She has been working to keep a line of endagered snails alive at the University of Hawaii. Today she is going to release them on the tallest range on Oahu. http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/story/16762829/army-releasing-300-endangered-snails-on-oahu She has spent the last year and a half hiking up into the mountains to get them the right fungi as food, tending them through weekends and the xmas holiday and finding jackson cameleons to help eliminate their enemies.

Here is a photo of the Kahuli snails to be released! Aren’t they tiny. There is a nice childrens book available at the Bishop museum called “Kili And The Singing Tree Snails” that could be shared with children to help them understand what a treasure these snails are.

I’m so proud of her work. I’m always thrilled by her adventureous spirit. She is committed.

Anticipating the blogs about the whales

Todays blog is great. They sort of wrap up a bunch of different stories. http://www.pacificvoyagers.org/voyage/blogs/rich-waters.html Sad, exciting, dramatic, beautiful. From some of the posts it sounds like the next 2 days will be magical experiences with whales.
