How I did it: I downloaded a list of the daily concepts. I thought about how I could celebrate each of these things in a way that would bring my family together. Did some geneology research and invented a game for my grandkids. Read how I did it…
How I did it: Found a Dean at the University that encouraged and reminded me for years. He did all the paperwork required and jumped through hoops to get past a Univeristy time limit. Had close friends that nagged, tutored and supported me. Relied on my boyfriend, boss, coworkers to support me in a semi leave from work. Had a great teacher. Stayed with my daughter and son-in-law for 4 months and got encouraged and nagged. Got tons o… Read how I did it…
How I did it: Snuck the sharpie into the kitchen and quickly decorated. Totally fooled my friend for a few moments. Sadly, they've all been eatten now. Farewell my friends. You were fun and yummy.Next I'll use easter egg dye. Read how I did it…

My daughter is a biologist. She has been working to keep a line of endagered snails alive at the University of Hawaii. Today she is going to release them on the tallest range on Oahu. http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/story/16762829/army-releasing-300-endangered-snails-on-oahu She has spent the last year and a half hiking up into the mountains to get them the right fungi as food, tending them through weekends and the xmas holiday and finding jackson cameleons to help eliminate their enemies.
Here is a photo of the Kahuli snails to be released! Aren’t they tiny. There is a nice childrens book available at the Bishop museum called “Kili And The Singing Tree Snails” that could be shared with children to help them understand what a treasure these snails are.
I’m so proud of her work. I’m always thrilled by her adventureous spirit. She is committed.
Todays blog is great. They sort of wrap up a bunch of different stories. http://www.pacificvoyagers.org/voyage/blogs/rich-waters.html Sad, exciting, dramatic, beautiful. From some of the posts it sounds like the next 2 days will be magical experiences with whales.
