or, as one attendee described us, “a musical cacophony”
we are (sometimes) comprised of a singer/guitarist, keyboards, a trumpet, a french horn, a flute, harmonica, and a ukulele (that’d be me).
It’s the brainchild of my friend Chris (the guitarist). There are usually minimal rehearsals before performing. It adds to the ramshackle appeal.

It’s been over 2 years since I added this goal to my list, and I’ve finally taken the first step. I’ve been on psychiatric meds of various kinds since I was 15, and on this current one, Efexor, for 5 and a half years. It’s been a total lifesaver, and I don’t think I could have gotten to where I am now (university, balance, future planning) without its help.
So thanks, Efexor, I think it’s time to go. My GP is starting me on a gentle reduction programme – I’m now on 75% of what I have been on for the last 18 months. Baby steps…
The UK might be rainy, but it doesn’t do extreme winters. People say I must be used to the cold having lived in Canada, but no: I lived on Vancouver Island, where we didn’t have “proper” cold winters either. I’d like to travel somewhere where it’s -20 sometime, just to see how I cope!
