take my grade 5 piano and theory exams
first stage

I’ve registered with the ABRSM so I can enter myself for the theory exam in March.
However, I do have lots of actual university revision to be getting on with as well, so I hope I can balance these things!

play a live gig
the Giant Jam Band

or, as one attendee described us, “a musical cacophony”
we are (sometimes) comprised of a singer/guitarist, keyboards, a trumpet, a french horn, a flute, harmonica, and a ukulele (that’d be me).
It’s the brainchild of my friend Chris (the guitarist). There are usually minimal rehearsals before performing. It adds to the ramshackle appeal.

come off my medication (read all 2 entries…)
it begins.

It’s been over 2 years since I added this goal to my list, and I’ve finally taken the first step. I’ve been on psychiatric meds of various kinds since I was 15, and on this current one, Efexor, for 5 and a half years. It’s been a total lifesaver, and I don’t think I could have gotten to where I am now (university, balance, future planning) without its help.
So thanks, Efexor, I think it’s time to go. My GP is starting me on a gentle reduction programme – I’m now on 75% of what I have been on for the last 18 months. Baby steps…
