I think everyone wants to be a better person. It is pretty much inhuman to wake up each morning and ask yourself how are you going to ruin a life today, whether its yours or the people around you, (although it seems like some people manage). However this is a perpetual goal, because each day in some way everyone is a better person, you were walking down the street and give a homeless person some change today, tomorrow you smile and wave at a stranger and lighten up someones day. But the next day, you still have the same goal you have to ask yourself how to become an even better, there is no definition of better, there is no way to measure the goodness of your heart or actions. There is no finite line to be crossed into betterness. But goodness is contagious, it makes you and those around you much happier, increases the general quality of life, so just take one day at a time, and be sure to enjoy them. I know I was and probably still am pretty screwed up, but thats human nature, its how we function, or how we prevent ourselves from doing so, its what makes us different than robots, its that we are capable of making illogical choices and screwing up. But its not how you screw up, its how you overcome it that makes you a “better” person
