I’m interested in a few programs around the world, but some of them are so competitive and the application process seems daunting. I’m going to give it my all, my best shot, and hope for the best. If I never try, I’ll never know right? Wish me luck!

How I did it: I researched many design schools and found one in Italy I loved... I compiled my work, had friends critique my portfolio, and sent it off! I was accepted and will be moving to Italy in January 2011! Read how I did it…

How I did it: I'm a former web designer and tried to break into my company's IA department for a while. There were no openings, but they gave me a few chances to work as an IA and it was great!Then... I moved to NYC knowing no one, and managed to create a life here and feel truly “happy”. I’ve always been shy and never had an abundance of friends, but I think I am finally in the right place; the place that is helping me grow into the person I want to be.
I took chances, was proactive, and found many great friendships in this city. I did all this in less than a year. I was truly myself, and although I did encounter mean and selfish people along the way, I have wonderful people in my life who love me for the person I am and the person I am trying to become.
I wasn’t afraid to take risks here, and fir the first time I really made an effort to get what I want. All my friends came from that journey, and I feel so proud of myself that I finally broke out of my shell. This was the first time I didn’t have anyone to lean on, and I’m so happy I made the most of it.
My journey isn’t over- I hope to meet more people in my “new” life here. Knowing I accomplished my goal is reward enough for now…
I just moved to the Upper West Side and I am SO HAPPY I finally achieved one of my life-long goals. Everyone should live in this amazing city at least once in their lives!
