so my ex and my stepfather conspired against me to create a peaceful, relaxing pond in my front yard. the yard is 2.5 acres, so there was plenty of room for this delightful feature to be built, but my soil was wrong and the pond didn’t hold the water. so the decision was made to line it, only it’s about fifty feet in diameter, so we had to use a roofing lining material that’s bright, BRIGHT blue. well with the irregular height of the pond’s edge, i get this shocking blue border around my relaxing pond. looks so nice from the windows. NOT. i need to do major planting around this thing to get it to where it needs to be. it’s a long range plan.

but i'm a cat person
so how does a cat person become a dog person. my partner, mark, on impulse, picked a puppy from a friend. but he’s not the world’s best dog trainer, in spite of how much i love him. so i got a puppy. this cat person, now has a collie mix, that we’ve ironically decided to name kitty. so far the butler’s pantry has become a poop mine field, but the crate training seems to be working somewhat. i just need to clean out some room to set up a good “from the crate to the door” sprint.
the start of something great

so i just planted my first three roses in my courtyard. i’ve been collecting them this spring to get this summer project started, and now it’s under way. it might not be completely thought out, but it’s started and that’s the most important part, right?
