I am weeding these types of people out of my life. I want my friends to be interesting….people that are unusual, special. These days everyone seems concerned with lame stuff that doesn’t even matter. How much money they make, how big their house can be, how nice of a car they can drive….I want no part of it.

In April I started this goal and have read:
To Kill a Mockingbird
Catcher in the Rye
Love Story
The Shipping News
East of Eden
The Pearl
Jane Eyre
Frankenstein
Dracula
My favorites are To Kill a Mocking Bird and Dracula.
Definitly worth doing! Start with one of these books. I promise they will not bore you and they are not going to be over your head. These are simple books, but they will definitly change and shape who you are!

I know I should have a desire to learn more about God, but I think in my case, The Bible has always been there. My parents taught me when I was very young all they could. So, I guess at times I don’t appreciate it as much as I should. There is no question that whenever I live by the principles in the Bible, my life is a lot better. But it’s a matter of taking the time, I suppose and trying to find that “right attitude” to WANT to do it.

Pretty much all of my trips are this way. What I need to work on is going on a trip that HAS a predetermined destination and follow though on going there. The last trip we went on was for our anniversary and we ended up traveling through Arizona. We took our bikes and bummed around in Flagstaff, Prescott and Sedona. It’s great, because you don’t have any preconcieved ideas about what your going to be doing, therefore, you can’t be frustrated when the plans don’t work out. I recommend doing this for sure.

I read this book called “Divorce your car”, and the boy and I have really tried within the last few weeks to drive less. It was easy the first week, because our two kids (both under 5) were staying at Gramma’s house. Our biking adventures were so fun! Now that they are back I have hardly rode my bike at all. BUT all hope is not lost, I put an ad on Craigslist for a trailer to haul my kiddos in, and found one for free. I picked it up yesterday, but it needs new tires and the fabric needs to be replaced. Hopefully by next week we’ll be on the road.

I’ve taken a few cooking courses at my local college, but one of the things I crave constantly is Coconut Curry. If I learn to make it and the Spring Rolls I always order for take out, I’d be set!
