Establishing one’s rhythm must occur before organizing. Because to be organized, you absolutely MUST, MUST declutter! Purge EVERYthing that is not essential to your work space (any space!). This liberates the space to fulfill its intended purpose. (And, it allows one to simplify …)
Being organized is not about rigid placement and a place for everything as much as it is about finding one’s rhythm and tuning out all else. AND, it is a process; certainly it is a process.
Give yourself a break … Journey in the direction of organization; but don’t forget to make the rest stops along the way to purge yourself of the waste and unnecessary weight of 1) screaming “should do’s,” 2) the “I will get to that someday” and 3) the “but I have to because (fill in the blank)”
Remember … It is a process. And it is not about perfection. It is about getting there. :-)
