I’m in the UOTC now which I think is technically a part of the TA lol so far its been amazing fun, if hard work (on a recent training weekend, I couldn’t make it up the last hill to the coach home with my bergen on, and had to be dragged by our 70 year old sergeant – not my proudest moment lol) Its been a whirl of blisters, parties and deeply disturbing moments… lol loving it though, glad to have finally got somewhere with this goal!

Sigh… why does the DRC have to be so screwed up? I want to work there though, maybe with the UN. I have a TEFL qualification now, though, so maybe I could work with refugees.

I heard someone say once that the reason young women are more beautiful than older women is that their dreams are still alive, and you can see it in their eyes. If I ever stop being true to myself, someone give me a whack and send me down the Amazon on a bamboo raft. What’s the point of life if you don’t do what you know is the only thing that will make you happy?

How gorgeous does this sound?!? Hee hee super pumped about this goal. What could be more fun than living? I vow from this moment on to enjoy every moment of my life, and to experience and love the lows as well as the highs!

Though its not generally in my nature to give up(!), I’m happy with where I’m going and I don’t plan on doing a degree past my bachelor’s, so g’bye Oxford!

I love people! I’m constantly meeting wonderful people, and the best part is, I find them interesting because I’m meeting them doing things I love!

...as per combat conditioning. So far can only do 100 at once, and that’s if I don’t lose my balance lol. 500 seems like a very zen number to me, and with any luck at that number I’ll be springily fit!

Passed the medical, yay! But one of my references has managed to disappear en route, so the first recruitment weekend I can make isn’t until February. Can’t wait, hee hee!

Aaaaaarrrrrgggghhhhhh! REJECTED! I knew I screwed my interviews up. sigh… ah well, its the course that counts, not the uni. Congrats to everyone who got a place, particularly PPEists at LMH. That place was gorgeous. Have fun!!!

My word is it difficult to get a foot in the door! This must be how they weed out the people they don’t want… 10 gazillion forms to fill out (and I still managed to forget a couple!), and my references are confused by the forms THEY need to fill out!

Great fun. Saw Moscow and St. Petersberg, both beautiful, and my friends and I competed to see who could elicit a smile from the Russian airport security! Also went on the overnight train between the two cities – an experience, to say the least!

Went to the optician, and while my sight’s good enough for the TA, it’s got worse since I last went! (Although that was admittedly a year ago – oops!) Oh well, tomorrow is another day!

I’ve started filling out the forms for the Royal Logistics Corps (not the most glamourous branch, I know!). They’re very arm ache-ificating! If I’m fit for service, hopefully I’ll be asked to come to a recruitment weekend, and I’ll know what sort of job I’m suited to! Should be interesting though, and as I’m applying for a specialist job, it should fit around university.

Well, I’ve started doing some exercises from the “Vision for Life” programme, and while there’s been some improvement, it’s not as much as I’d hoped. Oh well, maybe there’ll be a sudden leap in clarity! Preferably before Friday though…. I’ve got an optician’s appointment, and I need them to fill out a form for the Territorial Army. Hope my sight’s good enough (fingers crossed!).

SO FANTASTICALLY FUN!!! I’m so glad I did this, it was absolutely amazing. Freefall was exhilirating to say the least, and when the parachute opened it was so great just to look down on the world. My tandem instructor did some swoopy things as well which were SO much fun. I did this as part of a massive charity event, and anyone dithering over whether or not to try this, DO IT, or you’ll always regret it. It’s not nearly as scary as you’d think!
