So I signed up with my gal pal to go on a 2-3 week excursion to Peru. It costs a couple of thousand dollars and I haven’t discussed it with my husband yet, but I can save up for and I really think it will help me get closer to the goal.
I have studied Spanish for 8 years and my goal is to become fluent.
Although I won’t get paid any extra money in the AF reserve like you do for some other languages, I still want to learn it.
I know in my journlaim career if I can speak mulitple languages then I am more marketable.
So that is what I am going to do…of course I probably should take a refresher course prior to leaving this summer and I probably should sign up for the course they offer while you are over there but ulitmately…this is putting me one step closer to achieveing this goal….and I’m happy that I made the decisionh to go for it.

Well my husband will be returning from his deployment soon. It’s really odd…It seems that I have grown use to him being gone. Not to say I don’t miss him, just that I enjoy how things are now. I enjoy being alone and coming and going as I please. I have grown comfortable with living alone and perhaps that may create conflict when he comes home.
I really don’t want to feel this way. I want things to be perfect like they were before he left, but the reality is that we have been married for a year and only lived together for 4 months.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining. I knew this is the way it would be when you are a military family. I guess I’m just a little disappointed that my emotions aren’t out of control like I assumed they would be after spending Christmas and all of those other important holidays alone.

Well I joined the Air Force Reserve and now I am officially a military journalist.
I completed the course and I am wrapping up an internship at my base. I’ve already been published twice in 1 month, and I am working on 3 more stories right now.
This is exactly what I need to jump start my career. I am applying to graduate school for my Master’s in Journalism. I feel that this advanced degree, coupled with my volunterism and the military is what I need to take my career to the next level.
