I quit my job to drive for 25 days through 20 states starting in Baltimore Maryland, going north through states like Illinois and Wyoming, and going down the coast of California, and returning slightly southen back to Baltimore.
We visited 8 national parks during this trip and a few tips I have are:
purchase a National Parks pass, it’s 50 dollars a car but then you don’t have to pay to get in any other national parks for a year.
visit Utah, and stay there. there are several national parks there, and i recommend arches, zion, capital reef, and bryce canyon. if you go to capital reef there’s a waterfall you can swim in which is awesome.
sleep in arches national park, I saw more stars in that sky than anywhere else in my life.
If you go to the Grand Canyon, stay for a few days, there’s not much to see if you dont have enough time to go into it. and that takes atleast a day.
go to the badlands of South Dakota, but don’t plan on spending more than a day, two at the most there, you can hike all over the place and it’s gorgeous and worth seeing, but after a while it all looks the same.
Take a day and drive down Pacific Coast Highway, or Big Sur, which is pretty much the same thing, it’s an amazing view and you won’t regret it.
Go to death valley, hottest place you’ll ever go. I thought it was worth the drive.
Vegas is a nice stop, cheap hotels and realllly cheap food. it’s a nice change if you’ve been camping the other parts of the trip.
Colorado is expensive, and Kansas is boring.
I could write for days about this trip, but if you don’t remember anything else, remember to visit, and stay in Utah.
