We were in London this summer and had it all booked but ended up getting sick. Was feeling too awful to do much walking so we skipped it and went to a play instead.

How I did it: Signed up through Trek adventures and Imaginative Traveler for a two week tour of Jordan and Egypt. The tour made life really easy. No worries about getting around from one place to another and (we loved this part) lots of time to bugger off and do our own thing instead of always being stuck with the tour. Read how I did it…
Totally worth doing. It was easier than I thought too. I just went to the bank and asked them to set up automatic transfers to a cash fund each pay day. That way the money was already saved before I even had a chance to be tempted to spend it.
We just came back from our spring trip. The scenery was amazing and the food even more so. Well worth doing. My favorite city of the trip was Avignon. We went there on a whim and fell in love with the place.
The people everywhere (even Paris) were very friendly and went way out of their way to help us in whatever way they could. Just make the effort to attempt to speak their language instead of assuming they all speak yours.
The tourists on the other hand? Ugh.. we found some of them to be unbelievably rude.
We did find that eating out sucked up a lot of our time and money so we got in the habit of hitting the local Monoprix to pick up wine, baguettes and cheese whenever we were pressed for either time or cash.
