What’s the point of re-reading Harry Potter for the zillionth time when I have a whole shelf of books I haven’t touched? I like how this can go under both “self fulfillment” and “save money”.

I know this is something I really should learn, but I always tell myself that if I’m ever in a life-threatening water-related situation, I’ll just hope my body’s natural buoyancy will kick in. So not only do I not know how to swim, I’m also foolish and somewhat in denial.
In a few weeks I’ll be leaving for a month-long bike tour of Ireland with my best friend. I only learned how to ride a couple of months ago, at the tender age of 18. I’m still a bit shaky getting on and off, and I’m sporting numerous scars and scabs from my many falls, but overall I’m so glad I finally learned.
It’s such an awesome feeling, and believe me- grace, balance, and poise are not my strong suits. I’ve been known to trip over the floor, so if I can learn, anyone can.
