-being called in to work for 1 hour and getting paid for 2 at time and a half rate

-my son’s company and our conversation today

-a job possibility for said son

-eavesdropping on two women at the laundromat. I observed their easy and playful interaction

-receiving a quote from my daughter that was very fitting

1/17/12

-work today was as crazy as yesterday, but I kept my good humor

-learning that one of coworkers shares my dream of wanting a yurt! I am amazed in all the things we have in common, actually-unusual interests that do not come up in everyday conversation. I feel as though the universe dropped her into my workplace.

-my tacky, flowered rainboots that kept my feet dry today

-sitting down in my quiet, darkened house…I feel the stress of the day slipping away

-vague plans for tomorrow’s to-do list

-having enough of what I need

-text messages from a childhood friend

1/15 & 1/16/12

-spending time with family

-wonderful spaghetti dinner made by my Italian-American stepmom

-ideas for a small business of my own

-peanut butter and jelly sandwich after a long day

-surviving one of the most overwhelming shifts in recent memory

-being able to roll with the punches

-overhearing a coworker tell my aunt that she loves working with me

-the comical sound of my newfoundland clip clopping up the stairs

-an idea of where to create a little corner for my crafting

-knowing that nothing lasts forever
