OK, I graduated a month and a half ago. I didn’t get the event posted. Definitely glad I did, but I still feel like I don’t know as much as I’d like. Oh well, leaving the classroom doesn’t mean I can’t continue to study.

I’m taking acting this semester, and one of the major assignments we have is to keep a sense journal. That is, each day of the week (M-F) is dedicated to a sense. Monday might be sight, Tuesday might be sound, Wednesday might be touch, Thursday taste and Friday smell. The idea is that every day I have to write in the journal something that I’ve noticed pertaining to that sense. On Monday, I was sitting in another class when I noticed on the windowsill a bird that was redder than my car, so I’ll write something about that. Yesterday, my cat was feeling particularly affectionate, and I was revelling in how soft her fur is, so I’ll write about that.
I can see myself looking for things to notice for my journal now. I hope it proves effective.
The class is being held in a room with mirror-lined walls. I know my posture’s bad anyway, but I really noticed how bad when I saw myself doing drills in the mirror. I guess that’s a good thing, though, because it makes me super-aware of how I’m standing during those two hours each week. That doesn’t sound like much, but an hour of being aware of my posture carries over for a good part of the rest of the day.
