Turns out a movie I want to see, no one else is interested in. 1931 original Frankenstein. There is a theatre near my house that shows old movies sometimes and for Halloween, saw the original Dracula last year, and I want to see the original Frankenstein this year, Boris Karlof. The Richard loves old movies, and really low budget movies but he’s working and didn’t want to pay six dollars, he’s cheap, another trait we have in common. And it’s something I’ve never done so I figure what the hell, I’ll be (a creeper according to my brother) independent and go alll by myself. There will only be like three other people there anyways lol.

How I did it: I just went. I was one of about eight people in the theater so it wasn't reall that awkward or anything, and I enjoyed the movie. My brother says I am a creeper for going by myself but it's better than not going, or going with someone who doesn't want to be there or doesn't appreciate it. I enjoyed the movie and I am glad I went. End of story. I can go to movies when I want, even if it is alone. Movies are more fun… Read how I did it…
How I did it: Pasta I made from scratch using a recipe and a dough hook in the mix master, ran it through the pasta machine and cooked it and voila! Pasta. Garlic bread I threw in the oven, salad was my mom's basil, tomato and mozzarella, and the cake actually was a little flat (my brother said it looked like road kill and that I should put a tire track down it's back) but it was still tasty, and pretty cute. How I did it: When I was little my grandma always had me help her bake, and as I grew older I started helping my mom out in the kitchen. Now the three of us each take turns cooking every third weekend depending on what shift my mom is working. I can have four different pots and pans going on the stove and something in the oven and be running around like a maniac but I've got everything under control and I get the food on the table, usually … Read how I did it…

My brother’s birthday was today but we are celebrating this Sunday. My parents both work but my mom is making the sauce ahead of time as it’s better after it sets and melds together. So by four o’clock sunday afternoon I will have made fresh pasta (from scratch) meatballs (from scratch) and a birthday cake in the shape of a turtle (why? because I wanted to try it and I made him a panda face last year). And Rumaki (which is not italian at all, I simply want Rumaki really bad, it’s bacon and delicousness). The rumaki I’ll make friday night as it’s not really for the dinner and the cake I’ll make Saturday as I am a crazy perfectionist. Meatballs and pasta and heated up sauce and probably garlic bread are all sunday. As far as work knows I will be at school and unavailable due to papers (which is partly true, just not the at school part, I do have quite a bit of homework and just need a weekend to rest and get over being sick (which I got from working in the ER, and I am not even technically working there right now! It’s a summer job!)) So I will be avoiding the phones and hopefully avoiding work (I go in out of the kindness of my heart (and I am a glutton for punishment) there is no threat of losing my job or anything if I don’t go in, I am just helping out and earning a little gas money.
Yeah spaghetti dinner, how’d that turn into a rant on avoiding work? Looks like I need to update the eljay again instead of ranting and rambling here. Alas homework calls, good bye procrastination!
Just in case anyone didn’t know what Rumaki was and was interested, here is my recipe on bakespace.com:

This weekend my mother and I are going to attempt to make Julia Child’s famous “Boeuf à la Bourguignonne” if we pull this off I am going to consider this goal completed. In July we went to a cooking demonstration, got the recipe (which was delicious) and made it at home, and it was still delicious! I made it myself three times now and I’ve decided that means I am a good cook. Being able to recreate a meal and even improve upon it is fabulous. So I am going to attempt to do this meal and then consider myself a good cook. :)
