Update: I have acquired four new books. The first 3 Chronicles Of Narnia books were given to me as a gift upon the DVD release of the new movie. And an old book, Watchdog and the Coyotes by a favorite author as a child was purchased in December as a replacement for a another book by the same author that mysteriously disappeared.

A stressful and demanding semester (damn you math) has kept me from going back to the gym. Unfortunately, between my health and academics, academia has to come first. So as a result, not only have I reached a plateau in the weigh loss goal, but I think I’m putting the weight back on. I still exercise, but the sessions are not as intense and I don’t do it as often. I’ve gone from 2-3 gym trips weekly to walking the dog once or twice a week.
I felt so rotten this morning that for breakfast I went to mcDonald’s and ordered a fruit salad. I don’t even like fruit. But I’m just so desperate to hold off my weight. And the salad wasn’t bad. I do like apples and the yogurt cup was pretty sweet. And the grapes were okay too. But goddamn, 140 calories for that little package of candied walnuts?
Also, I found a sweet deal at Sam’s Club: a small gym set with pulling weights and leg weight lifter for $150. They were sold out, but if they ever get more and if my subbing picks up, I want to invest in one for my garage “gym.” It’ll be convenient since I can workout in my own home without driving 20 miles to the university gym and having to take turns with other students.
This was mentioned under the Faace My Fears entry, but the real reason I went to the career fair—impulse. I just wanted to see someone.
But the “real” impulsive act was lying to a speaker for Exxon about becoming a Computer Sci. major just to get a novelty tiger tail from her table. Since I look young, I lied and said I was an undeclared sophomore considering majoring in CS. She bought it and went into a five minute lecture on what it takes to work for Exxon. And when she was finished, I got my tiger tail.
