keep my hermit crabs alive
hermit crabs are being very solitary 5 months ago

I started with 4 hermit crabs in October last year. Since then, one, I know for sure, has died. One is definitely still alive, the other 2, I haven’t seen since March this year. They buried themselves – I suppose to keep out of the cold. I have read that in Oz, hermit crabs hibernate from about March through to August. Two months ago, I dug up the ground to see where my hermies were. One has liquified in his shell. There was sticky goo in his shell…this was my favourite crab…and I think what I found was his dead body…I never found the other crab. I bought 2 more because I like to see some action in my tank…they all dug and hid too. So I went and bought 4 more. I still don’t see any of them except that one single crab from the first set. I’m hoping when it gets warm again, they’ll all come back up from the substrate and make my crabitarium look alive!

On the road to what would have to be my favourite place last year, for more reasons than the landscape…Coominya, Qld. This was summer, and was very very dry.

A wonderful memory of a relaxing weekend at the farm…

Me and my man 18 months ago

I love my DSLR. We go just about everywhere together now. Even though we have only been together for 8 months, we are very much in love. I have worn him out a number of times, he runs out of puff (battery!) long before I’m done taking pics. He’s even got the charm of a well used machine, a couple of scratches, bits of dust. I do take good care of him, but sometimes things just happen…

We’re still working on taking really awesome pics, so I’m still not as familiar with him as I am with breathing, but we’re getting there…

Europe 20 months ago

I have decided I want to take my DSLR (Olympus E510) with me to Europe – but I’m not very familiar with it, or what settings to use for what environments…I’m only a beginner and have an interest in photography, which is why I bought it…but I dont want to come home with a whole heap of crap shots of great things just because I was too lazy to learn how to use it efficiently!!

I need lots of help though – but cant really afford the time or money to do a course…
