How I did it: It took me about a year, but I feel like I can finally say I know how to play. Most of the songs I play are Beirut songs that I've worked out on my own or watched instructional videos for on YouTube. I feel like when I'm able to play songs by A Hawk and a Hacksaw, that's when I'll be like an expert, you know? There are a bunch of really cool traditional eastern European songs I also want to learn. It's a beautiful instrument. Read how I did it…
How I did it: In 2007 I read 50 books, and it was entirely worth it. I figured 25 would be a cinch. I actually expected to read more than 25, but ended up with a clean 25 in the end.1. I Am America (And So Can You!) - Stephen Colbert2. The Diary of a Young Girl - Anne Frank3. A Man Without A Country - Kurt Vonnegut4. The Catcher in the Rye - J.D. Salinger5. Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone - JK Rowling6. HP & the Chamber of Secrets - J… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I didn't actually make my own box. After researching some, I found that it's way too expensive to make your own as the pieces are pretty rare. I did get one of those mechanical music box mechanisms where you compose your own melody on the strip of paper. It's a really cool little instrument, and making the melodies is fairly complicated, but totally worth it. It sounds so good. Read how I did it…
