I’ve signed up to GreenPower, so my electricity comes from a windfarm instead of coal-fired power stations. I’ve installed a timer in my shower (less gas needed to heat water, less water waste). My husband and I have booked someone to come and insulated our roof – it reduces the need for heating and cooling.
We really want to buy a Prius, but have to save up a bit of money first :)

My family and friends kept asking me what they could do to help stop climate change, so I made a website about how to make more environmentally-friendly choices: http://www.gogreeneraustralia.com
Then I wanted to show them what I’m doing myself, what I’m changing in my house and what I’m reading/watching and so on – so I started a blog: http://www.gogreeneraustralia.com/blog

I’ve been writing letters to politicians (local and federal) – they’re in charge of the legislation needed to support new efforts and restrict bad environmental practices, but unless they think there’s votes in it for them they won’t lift a finger to help. In Australia you can sign up to www.getup.org.au and join in their letter-writing campaigns, also the parliament websites have all the contact details of MPs.
