This goal is a real burden on my psyche. I had hoped by formalising it as a goal I would be able to deal with it in a more balanced way.
I began to try using a meal replacement program, which although was ok, didn’t provide any results… possibly because I didn’t follow it strictly (ie I would still have caffeine and milk when it says I shouldn’t!)
A week ago, I signed up at a local gym – a new one that has just opened down the road, and I have been 2x.
Each time I go, my whole body sings… it sounds weird, but I feel less depressed, and more enthusiastic. I am trying to not go stupid at it cause then I’m replacing one obsession for another. I am trying to pace myself so that I can build a healthy enjoyment of it, and thereby change my lifestyle for a lifetime.

How I did it: I live in a city where we have regulations about when we can water our garden and for how long. This impacts the types of plants we have and usually means that we have to be very deliberate about how we go about our gardening. For quite a while I was getting quite disillusioned about the state of our garden. We have gum trees out the front whose bark was peeling because of the drought, and lack of water. We had plants (some good, some weed… Read how I did it…
In resigning from my work and returning to study/complete my teaching degree, I am ‘killing two birds with the one stone’... more than two birds actually…
I am finding that I am able to play with my daughter a lot more, and then spend time at night with hubbie without feeling so deflated from work.
My daughter is responding to this with leaps and bounds, and is a lot more receptive to cuddles and kisses and tickles etc. It makes being a mum more joyful.
About the time that I had placed this on my list, I was drinking maybe a glass of water every few days – usually I would have pepsi max or milk or coffee etc
Now I am averaging about 1L of water a day – either via a bottle being sipped during the day, or drinking a HUGE glass of water when I get up.
I find that the days that I may miss this, I end up with feeling furry in my mouth… and it’s pretty blah generally
I have managed to overcome my anti-tap water issue and just drink the damn stuff!
