I went thru and organized/purged papers the other day that were crammed into different spots in the junk room. I filled up a whole container of recycleable stuff. But this room is still a huge mess. The key is getting the husband a shed that we can put in the back yard for all his junk. He refuses to keep it even partially organized, he’d rather leave it in piles. When I try to put stuff into containers so it’s not falling off the shelves he moans and complains so much it’s not worth it. I would like to be able to use this room for something other than a junk room but right now there are no other storage options until we can get something for outside.

The holiday season was really bad for me, I had started eating candy bars at my breaks and munching on chocolate almost daily. And all the Christmas desserts…fuggedaboutit!! So beginning 1-1-06 I decided to cut out the sugar. With very few exceptions I have been sticking to the plan. I had always heard that once you cut out as much sugar as possible that the cravings for sweet things will go away. I never believed this, but it is true! Flavored creamer in my coffee is my sole indulgence, and I have managed to walk thru the aisles of Valentines day candy without being compelled to sneak a little box of Russel Stovers to eat on the way home.
...to be more healthy and lose some weight. One of the girls at work jump started my by putting together a “Biggest Loser” contest. About 25 people each put $10 in a pot, everyone was weighed on Feb 1st and whoever loses the most by the end of the month will win the $$. I could really use $250 so that gave me a starting point to do more. So we started walking every day and have been cutting out sugar, potatoes and other junk food. We’re eating more salads and veggies. I can already tell a difference but I still have a ways to go…it took me awhile to pack on these pounds, it will take awhile to get rid of it.
